As we are just over a week out from the Presidential election here in America, voters will flock to the polls and cast their vote for the candidate of their choice. Some voters will carefully study their choices and weigh the pros and the cons before casting their vote. These are the responsible voters.
It is the voters on the other side you must worry about. The problem with politics and the voting process boils down to voters casting their votes for all of the wrong reasons. What reasons are those?
If you select your candidate based on their skin color, race, or gender to support “your side” or to prove you aren’t racist, you are part of the problem.
If you cast your vote because you belong to a specific political party despite both candidates disdain for your freedoms and liberties, you are part of the problem.
If you pick your candidate based on whether or not they support or oppose abortion, you are part of the problem.
If you rely on celebrity endorsements of candidates in order to pick your candidate, you are part of the problem.
If you rely on broadcast networks and news stations to tell you which candidate is best for the country and ultimately best for you, you are part of the problem.
The problem with modern day politics isn’t just politicians. It is the American voter. The American voter has digressed into a mindless zombie that no longer thinks for themselves. Instead, they allow external motivators to deliver the intrinsic reward of voting for a winner.
More often than not, voters select their candidate not on real issues but rather the letter off to the side of the candidate’s name. No matter how great a candidate appears to be, voters will select based off of the letters D or R. Even if it goes against their own best interests.
During the three debates between Presidential candidates Obama and Romney, the word Constitution was not uttered one time. For a country that was founded on the very principles included in the framework of that vital document, voters should expect to hear a Presidential candidate refer to that document especially when it comes to conflict on foreign lands.
Why didn’t you hear about the Constitution during the debates?
Because neither candidate gives a shit about that piece of paper. Because they know that voters will vote for them despite supporting or signing legislation that takes away the very freedoms and liberties the Constitution forbids government from infringing upon.
More importantly, the reason this nation has devolved in politics for sale is because the general American public is nothing more than a bunch of spineless pussies. Sure, Americans occasionally rise up and band together to battle injustice. Sadly, many of those issues are minuscule such as Bank of America $5 debit fee. Americans will protest as long as it doesn’t require much work.
Americans constantly draw a line in the sand and claim if government crosses this line they will rise up and fight. Then when government crosses that line, Americans draw another line. And again. And again. Americans draw this line until they are backed into a corner and there is no longer room to draw another line. By then it will be too late. For the most part, it already is.
It’s too late for the people to rise up and stand up for their liberties as government already has legislation on the books that allows the ordering of your arrest, indefinite detainment, prevention of access to an attorney or a public hearing of the charges against you. The government has already armed themselves with over 1.5 billion rounds of ammunition. The Army inadvertently released a reeducation manual that talks about civil unrest here on the streets of America and the steps they will take to “reeducate” citizens in FEMA camps.
Yet none of these treasonous acts served as the catalyst to inspire Americans to act just as our forefathers had warned us about tyranny.
So yes, America, it is your fault. It is absolutely your fault. You continue to play the game that is stacked against you and you continue to play by their rules. You no longer control the outcome as it has been decided for you. But hey, just remember when you vote that you are voting who you were told to vote for in the first place and that not everyone can think for themselves.
